SAPSASA Boys Soccer Knockout Competition

On Thursday 16th of June the boys soccer team played against Cabra College at Mortlock Park. The game was 2-2 so two 5minute halves had to be played. The score was even so it went to penalty shots. Colonel Light Gardens won by one goal. Final score 5-4.

The next boys knockout soccer match will be played against St Peters Woodland College on Wednesday 27th July at Colonel Light Gardens Primary School on Mortlock Oval. The game will start at 10.30am. Good luck boys.

SAPSASA Boys Knockout Netball

As the boys were successful in winning the game against Westbourne Park in May their next challenge will be against Woodville Gardens Primary School. The game will be played at Colonel Light Gardens on Friday 29th July commencing at 1.45pm. We wish the team every success.

SAPSASA Boys and Girls District Soccer and Hockey Carnivals

Billy, Ella C and Kaitlin R competed in the soccer carnival that was played at Bartlett Reserve from 20th – 24th of June. The boys City South Team came 2nd and all boys received a certificate. The girls City South team that Bronny R coached and I managed came 1st and all girls received a gold medal. Both teams have now moved up to Division 1 next year.

Alex Davey played in the hockey carnival over the week as well. His team represented the Southern Heights District and came 6th in the carnival.

SAPSASA Boys and Girls Basketball Knockout Competition

Both the boys and girls basketball knockout competition will be played on Thursday 28th July at Wayville Stadium.

SAPSASA Cross Country State selections to play in Canberra

Oscar C was invited to attend the Cross Country State selections. He was extremely successful and will now be second reserve for the national competition. Well done Oscar.

SAPSASA Athletics Carnival Trials (Reissued)

The Athletics Trials are fast approaching and will be run on Monday 4th July (Week 10) from midday. All students born 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003 and 2002 will be participating. The finalists in the field events and first and second placed students in the track events are invited to attend the Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 24th August at Santos Stadium.

Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart Jump Off day will be Tuesday 16th August, back up day Friday 19th August commencing after lunch at 2pm. Students will be given the sponsorship booklets to take home next week. We also have a web page that you can visit and put in your donations and messages of support at www.heartfoundation.org.au go in to Kids Join Now and search our school name. Please support students in their fundraising, it is for such a worthy cause, heart disease, which is one of the biggest killers in our society today.

Table Tennis

An individual event is being offered to interested students who like playing table tennis. It will be held at the Newton Sports Complex on Sunday 24th July. Matches start at 9.30. For more information please catch up with me.

Sports Camp Australia

Stay Active in partnership with Sports Camps Australia are delivering a Junior Soccer Camp in the July school holidays. The camp will be held at Immanuel College in Novar Gardens and is the perfect opportunity for aspiring soccer players aged 8 – 13 years to develop their skills, whilst having fun at the same time! SAPSASA Orienteering – individual
