SAPSASA and PE Update Term 1 Week 1

SAPSASA and PE Update Term 1 Week 1

Welcome back to another year of sport at Colonel Light Gardens Primary School. One of our Expertise Learner Qualities is being Organised. All students are expected to bring their hats (Terms 1 and 4) and drink bottle (water) to every PE lesson and SAPSASA event. These two items are extremely important for health and wellbeing. The prevalence of skin cancer can be reduced by wearing a hat and applying sunscreen. It is also imperative that we keep our bodies hydrated by replacing fluids we lose whilst exercising. I would greatly appreciate your support and encouragement.

Students who are born in 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004 have the opportunity to compete in various SAPSASA events this year. https://www.decd.sa.gov.au/teaching/sport

Please follow the school newsletter and the PE Blog https://peclg.edublogs.org/ for information on what sports our school will be participating in this year.

Nominations for students who are interested in participating in the Combine District Swimming Carnival on 3rd March, Knockout Cricket and Softball trials will be sent out next week. Stay tuned.

There are exciting times ahead in sport with the start of the AFL Women’s teams games scheduled to start this week. The Adelaide Crows Women’s team will be playing at Thebarton Oval this Saturday at 4.35pm against GWS Giants. Admission is free. I know we have some very talented girls in our school who are interested in making a team up for SAPSASA this year.  I will keep you up to date on any free training and development sessions that come up.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me.
