Sapsasa Boys Knockout Football

The Sapsasa Boys Football team played against Blackforest Primary School on Friday 12th May on Mortlock Oval. Congratulations to Blackforest who won, they played an amazing game against us. It was a great team effort from our team. Well done Mitchell O, Charlie F, Jack B, Charlie W, Ethan B, Josh B, Braydon B, Daniel T, Matthew T, Oscar C, Cormac M, Ethan S, Harry H, Jesse Z, callum S, Samuel B, Max S, Sean H, Harry C and William H. A big thank you to James Simmons who coached the team. Until next year.

Sapsasa Girls Knockout Football

Save the date. Friday the 2nd of June, Mortlock Oval, 1.50pm. Our Sapsasa Girls football team will be playing their first game in the knockout competition. Jessica C, Ebony V, Sophie A, Gracie T, Chantilly J, Ariana T, Ruby Z, Charlotte O, Tyzana B, Sammy B, Paige M, Demi K, Abby K, Eliana F, Evelyn C, Jasmin E, Lily R, Stella M, Georgia L and Amelia K are challenging themselves in a new sport. Practises are going well with Rick Bennalack as coach. Good luck team.

Sapsasa Boys Netball

The Sapsasa Boys Netball game that was scheduled to be played on Tuesday 16th May was cancelled at short notice and was forfeited by Forbes Primary School. Our team will playing either Parkside Primary or Westbourne Primary before or on Friday 9th June. The date will be confirmed as soon as possible. The team will continue to practise their skills with their coach Renae Simmons.

Sapsasa Girls Netball

On Wednesday 17th of May the Sapsasa Girls Netball team played Mitcham Primary school at Mitcham. The final scores were 23 to 25 Colonel Light Gardens Primary School winning. A very close game.  Congratulations to the team who will now be playing Mercedes College on or before the 26th May. A big thank you to Jessica Roberts who coaches the team.

Sapsasa Football and Netball State Carnival team selections

Congratulations to Mitchell O who has been selected to play for City South in the Sapsasa Football State Carnival at Barratt Reserve, West Beach from 5th to 9th of June.

Congratulation also goes to Jessica C, Kiana M, Paige M, Courtney W and Ruby Z who have selected to play for City South in the Sapsasa State Netball Carnival at Priceline Netball Stadium Keswick from 5th to 9th June.

Sapsasa District Soccer and Hockey Trials

Boys and girls Sapsasa District Soccer at Ascot Park Primary School and Sapsasa District Hockey at Belair Primary School trials will be starting soon. Nomination forms are available from my office.

Sapsasa Girls Soccer

The Sapsasa Girls Knockout Soccer team played their first game against Mitcham Primary on Wednesday 17th May. It was a nail biting game, going to extra time and penalty shots. The final score was 2 to 4 Mitcham Primary winning. Congratulations to Aneesa S, Darcy G, Demi K, Gracie T, Chantilly J, Kiana M, Ruby Z, Charlotte O, Emma S, Sammy B, Paige M, Ava B, Neha R and Eliana F. Shane Pluck coached the girls so well. A big thank you also to Corey G, Sam O, Jordan M and Matt T who were our linesmen. A great game by all.

Sapsasa Cross Country

The time has finally come, the Sapsasa Cross Country team of 47 students will be heading up to Belair National Park on Friday 19th May to compete in the Southern Heights/City South combined Spasasa Cross Country Carnival. Successful students will be invited to attend Oakbank and run for City South district on Thursday 1st June. More updates will be coming.

Sapsasa Orienteering trials

Teams of three students will be trialling on Wednesday 31st of May to compete in the event coming up next term. More information will be posted with times, dates and venue. A big thank you to Des Norman who works with me to get so many competitive teams ready.

Kelly Sports

We are delighted to announce that Charlie Bodner was awarded the Colonel Light Gardens Primary Kelly Sports Star of the Term by our Kelly Sports coach for Term 1.

The reasons for Charlies nomination were he always attends the Kelly Sports sessions with a great attitude and gives 100% effort in the session activities and games
