SOCCEROOS MARCH POST expression of interest

SOCCEROOS MARCH POST

Expression of Interest

Football Federation Australia in conjunction with SAPSASA – Primary School Sport have extended an invitation to schools in South Australia to participate in the 2016 Socceroos March Past.

The 2016 Socceroos March Past will be held prior to Socceroos v Tajikistan on Thursday 24 March (Easter long weekend) at Adelaide Oval, with students being provided the opportunity to step into the shoes of their Socceroos heroes by doing a lap of the field prior to kick off.

PARTICIPANTS

Up to 40 students per school will be provided complimentary tickets to be involved in the March Past. For every eight (8) marching participants the schools will be offered one (1) complimentary ticket for an official to help coordinate the participants.

Our school has registered to be involved, we now need to know who would like to attend. Please note that this is an after school event.

Please email Bronny an expression of interest so she can measure the interest of students as well as determine how many parents would like to come along for support.

Students participating are to be dressed neatly in their school sports uniform. Officials should be dressed appropriately in the schools sport shirt with dress pants.

SUPPORTERS

Parents, family and friends of the participants are encouraged to attend the event and will have the option of purchasing tickets to the match. Please note that the children will be escorted back to same seating bays so that they can watch the match with their parents, family and friends. Further instructions on how to purchase supporter tickets will be provided once your participation has been confirmed.

Swimming Carnival Meeting

SWIMMING CARNIVAL MEETING

FRIDAY 1.10pm IN LANGLEY HALL

Hi everyone,

Please come along to the meeting on Friday in Langley Hall at 1.10pm so we can regroup and discuss the run-down of the night and answer any questions before the carnival on Friday night.

Also please make sure that your families know: no glass, alcohol or smoking is allowed on the grounds. Entry is free as our school will be billed $5 per participant after the event.

I am sure, like last year, there are some eager parents that will put their hand up and help out with the Time Keeping duties at the 100m and 50m Freestyle event. Thanks in advance.

SPORTS SHED UPDATE

Hi Everyone

I met with my list of very eager monitors this afternoon….Annie D-W, Lily V, Sarah R, Sach A, David W, Cade H, Jackson A, Ruby C, Jesvi J, Kate S, Joseph S, Jaydon I, Archilleas M and Henry R. They have been very creative in their thinking and I am positive over the year you will see many changes.

As you are all aware the sports shed is not accessible for students to borrow any equipment over the next couple of weeks. The door is blocked due to grounds works and the area is out of bounds. But my eager monitors have come up with a plan….

Each lunch time the on duty Sports Shed Monitors will wheel a trolley out in front of the resource centre. Students will be able to borrow a limited amount of equipment, some is better than none.

Once the sports shed is operational they will spend their thinking time on revisiting what resources we have to borrow already and how this can be maximized. One of their suggestions is running some mini sports competitions during lunch times etc. Watch this space………

Please remember the correct borrowing procedures and the expectations of respecting all equipment.

Well done Colonel Light Gardens.
